Utah Travel Information
Thank you for your interest in the International Wilderness Leadership School, The following information is included to help you with planning your travel arrangements.
All of our leadership and guide training courses in Utah start and finish in Salt Lake City, UT. Course starts at 9:00 AM the departure day of the course. We’ll meet up at the hotel, have our course orientation, go over all equipment, and then head out into the hills.
Flights
Salt Lake City International Airport is easily reached from airports around the country. An IWLS representative will meet you at the airport with an IWLS sign. From Salt Lake, we’ll access one of the spectacular wilderness locations within Utah by van and 4x4.
Salt Lake City, Utah Travel & Accomodation Information
We recommend that participants arrive the day/night before the course departure date. Participants are responsible for food/lodging the night before the course starts.
We recommend the Econo Lodge in downtown Salt Lake City. They have plenty of rooms and space for any last minute packing/preparations.

Travel Insurance
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip. Travel insurance policies frequently cover costs associated with plane tickets, personal or medical emergencies, rescue, evacuation, trip cancellation, and theft, all of which are the responsibility of individual participants.
