Rock Climbing

Rock climbing courses at the International Wilderness Leadership School are dedicated to developing confident, competent, climbers. Using a hands on approach to learning, we introduce new skills and put them to use on climbs that develop individual skill and technique. We have programs for everyone from those who want a fun initial rock climbing experience, to those seeking serious expedition skills appropriate for the most demanding high altitude climbs, or, individuals interested in solid professional training courses. Our small groups and low instructor to student ratio let us meet individual expectations, and allow you to progress as quickly as your ambition and ability allow.

Alaska Rock Climbing

The Alaska Rock Climbing course is structured to give students a solid foundation of vertical climbing skills from a professional guiding perspective. Our rock climbing location just outside of Skagway hosts everything from easy top-rope climbs and difficult multi-pitch routes, to sweeping alpine faces. Difficulty levels vary from tenuous 5.10 slabs and 4th class adventure climbing to steep overhangs and splitter cracks.
