IWLS ski and snowboard mountaineering courses explore some of the best skiing terrain and the deepest powder snow in the world! These educational courses teach participants to be safe, knowledgeable and confident leaders in the wintry mountain environment. Imagine assessing avalanche hazards in the midst of a raging snowstorm or rappelling off a rocky ridge into a snowy bowl! Or enjoying arching beautiful turns down a virgin powder slope and skinning-up a glacier on a warm spring day. Our backcountry skiing and snowboarding courses explore a variety of terrain, locations and techniques.
All of our IWLS ski & snowboard mountaineering courses incorporate extensive avalanche training, and, upon successful completion, students may receive a certification in our level 1 and level 2 avalanche courses.
