FAQs
Travel insurance is required for international programs.
Individual participants are responsible for any costs associated with leaving the trip early for any reason. Travel insurance can help financially if you have to unexpectedly leave or cancel.
Please note that there may be significant advantages to purchasing travel insurance within a few days of booking your trip.
Travel Insurance may cover the following-
• You need emergency evacuation from the course venue
• If your baggage is lost
• If you miss a flight connection
• If your trip is delayed
• If you lose your job
• If you lose your passport
It is always recommended to purchase the insurance as soon as possible. However you may be able to procure Insurance near the date of your trip- this may result in limited coverage. If your trip is booked at the last minute, coverage will vary depending on the policy.
What is the deposit date or initial payment date?
The deposit or initial payment date is the day on which you made your first payment toward your trip. (i.e. airline tickets, hotel, cruise, tour etc.)
Will Travel insurance cover emergency evacuation?
Depending on your policy, it may. Additional evacuation insurance can be purchased separately.
How does trip cancellation and interruption coverage apply?
This is dependent on the policy that you select. In general insurance companies reimburse for forfeited, non-refundable, unused payments or deposits if the insured must cancel or interrupt their trip due to covered reasons. The interruption benefit may also include coverage for additional transportation expenses.
Does travel insurance apply in all jurisdictions?
Travel insurance availability and coverage may vary depending on the jurisdiction it is purchased in and where you are when claims are filed.
